Debbie Nightingale
President
Debbie is the Nightingale behind The Nightingale Company. Well versed in the film and television industry, Debbie has been actively involved in production and other aspects of the industry since 1979. She has produced feature films, television series, documentaries and kids series as well as numerous events in the industry over the last number of years.
Debbie was the Founding Executive Director of the Hot Docs International Documentary Festival and also grew the Industry Centre and its programmes at the Toronto International Film Festival into the 10 day major event it is today.
Nightingale was Assistant Program Director at C CHANNEL, one of Canada’s first pay-tv broadcasters from 1981-1982. She held the position of Special Projects and Development Officer at the Ontario Film Development Corporation from its inception in 1985 through 1988 where she evaluated and made recommendations on the business and creative aspects of feature films and television projects. Nightingale has sat on Boards including Toronto Women in Film and Television and the Canadian Independent Film Caucus (DOC) in recent years.
